Interac Agency:SJR Canada Role:Designer (Digital, Art Direction, Storyboarding, User Interface, Illustration)Interac is a payment network in Canada that has grown to become an integral part of the country’s financial ecosystem. Interac facilitates electronic transactions between consumers, businesses, and financial institutions as well as offering digital verification services. I had the opportunity to work on the Interac account—one of SJR’s largest—to deliver design services for content creation, digital marketing, advertising campaigns, and many more.
Sporting Football Club Agency:Belonwus(withJoseph Adesiyan, Jordan Belonwu, Solomon Osinloye & Dare Ogunnaike) Role:Designer (Brand Strategy, Jersey Design, Applications, Layouts)Nigeria, one of the most diverse countries in Africa, is united by football, a beloved civic pastime. At the heart of this football-mad nation is Lagos, a city that never sleeps. Sporting Lagos Football Club was established with a mission to build a lasting community around football, one that endures for generations.
For this project, strategy was formed around the lives of Lagosians. Lagosians typically want to show every level of their style. The maximalist treatment in the identity is adapted from the exuberantly and unapologetically Lagos style. I worked on the design of the football jerseys with the Umbro team and designed a layout that is simple and inspired by the formation in football. The loud and proud design, spurred by the city’s cultural energy, ensures that Sporting Lagos Football Club is not just a team, but a vibrant community hub that will last for generations. Bamboo Agency:Belonwus(withJoseph Adesiyan, Jordan Belonwu, Solomon Osinloye & Dare Ogunnaike) Role:Designer (Layouts, Applications, User Interface, Verbal Identity)Bamboo is an online brokerage app that enables Africans to invest in real-time in both local and foreign asset classes, making investing affordable and accessible. The Bamboo executives sought to standardize their assets and build a sophisticated, scalable brand while maintaining the company's origins.
As part of the team supporting this mission, I designed a layout system based on a modular grid framework that adapts to changing content. Inspired by building blocks, the layout system features a graphic device reminiscent of Tetris blocks, symbolizing elements coming together cohesively. I also worked on translating the identity into the user interface design of the mobile app.
The result is a refreshed brand identity that aligns with Bamboo’s mission to make investing accessible and rewarding for Africans. Casava Agency:Belonwus(withJoseph Adesiyan, Jordan Belonwu, Solomon Osinloye & Dare Ogunnaike) Role:Designer (Art Direction, User Interface, Verbal Identity, Applications) Casava employs a digital-first approach to insurance, making it affordable and valuable for its users. Bound by the belief that insurance shouldn't carry negative connotations, Casava commissioned an identity refresh to reflect its position as a brand that makes insurance an enjoyable experience.
As part of the refresh team, I provided art direction and crafted a verbal identity that embodies warmth, optimism, and confidence. This ensures all communication maintains a friendly, optimistic tone. The result is a refreshed brand identity that aligns with Casava’s mission to make insurance enjoyable, cementing its role as a leader in customer-friendly insurance solutions.
Juice Agency:Belonwus(with Joseph Adesiyan, Jordan Belonwu, Solomon Osinloye & Juice in-house team) Role: Designer (User Interface, Iconography)Juice is solving the problems Africans face with limitation on international spending using local bank cards. The limitation on dollar-spend on popular international shopping sites like Amazon, ASOS, AliExpress, ecetera has become challenging for everyday Africans to shop as they like. Juice 2-in-1 product allows consumers shop on all e-commerce sites without any spending limit, providing a cross border payment solution without limitation on spending.
Collaborating closely with the Juice team, I designed the UI of the mobile app, focusing on user-friendly navigation, clear visual cues, and a minimalist aesthetic, making each screen guide users effortlessly through the process of managing their finances and making international purchases. Carrot Agency:Belonwus (withJordan Belonwu) Role:Designer (User Interface)Carrot credit provides a quick line of credit to businesses and individuals collateralized by their assets — which might be either their stocks, cash or crypto. Carrot sought to have their vibrant brand identity mirrored in a new website while maintaining a professional and user-friendly experience. The challenge lay in balancing vibrant aesthetics with the necessary clarity and ease of navigation expected from a financial service provider.
The new website’s design introduces a user interface that harmoniously blends Carrot’s colours with intuitive navigation. Each element is crafted to enhance the user experience, ensuring that information is easily accessible and visually engaging. By integrating striking visuals with functional design, the site effectively communicates the brand’s commitment to quick, reliable credit solutions. Onboardly Role:Designer (Art Direction, Branding, User interface) As a company that automates all IT provisioning and support for startups and emerging companies, Onboardly required an identity that reflects their ethos. The brief was straightforward and a bit challenging; Without changing the logo, design an identity that communicates ease in the most professional manner. A burning question that led the way was “how do you show expertise and professionalism in the simplest form without being overly rigid?”
By magnifying the use of words, which are strong and efficient communication tools, my aim was to use them to convey the brand’s core message of simplicity and efficiency. With a bit of quirkiness to show the brand’s human side, words are positioned to mirror angles of the ‘points’ from the logo and are paired with a circle device to connote the abundance of resources converging in one space.
